                                                    The invitation
you all may be knowing  that a National Military memorial has come up at Bangalore where historical events, equipments, personalities and other such things of the three services are displayed.
It is basically designed to record great activities so that the present younger and the future generations will take pride of their country and self generate physical, moral and psychological strength to proove that they are second to none in this world.
The management of this memorial came to know of me and requested me whether one of the Antarctic stone can be displayed in the memorial.
I had carved out a globe out of the stones I had brought and kept in my drawing room for all these days-about 26 years.I thought it would be appropriate to present that globe to the memorial.

Accordingly one fine morning the globe was shifted to Bangalore.
It was later thought that a formal presentation function can be held for this.
In the meantime a suitable stand for the stone was designed.
Empty Artillery shells of 130mm guns and granite slabs at the top and bottom, completely mounted on wheels were designed and executed.

The management thought that the vijayDiwas day ie 16 December when war memorial services are held  the stone would be formaly handed over  by me to the memorial.
Generally the Chief minister of Karnataka come for the wreath laying at the war memorial.
so it wad decided that the CM would unwiel the globe  and I present that to the memorial.

Air come MK Chandrasekar moved heaven and earth and got everything done for the function.Myself and my wife reached Bangalore accordingly.
MEG &Centre was kind enough to provide accn and tpt.
The function went on very well.It was a memorable event and day for  us.

MEG and Centre and the great "Thambees" has played an inspiring role in my life.Needless to say that 4 Engineer Regiment which was formed by me  along with other officers in june 1966 is a land mark in my life.Out of 28 officers present at the time of formstion I was the only officer to command it.Incidently I was the first offcer to have commanded in the rank of Colonel.
so it was appropriate to present one of theAntarctic  stone to MEG &Centre.
