viewrs may be aware that Ganesan was a junior Engineer in Tamilnadu state PWD and was buzy in converting an annicut into a Regulator across River Vettar near Thanjavur in october-November 1962.
That is the time the Chineese attack on India took place and the country was placed under National Emergency.
Ganesan,s work was on a irrigation river.water supply was closed in 0ctober and has to be restored in May-June subsquent year.The work was about Rs.7.5 lakh and started in full speed.By Mar-April following year the work was nearing completion.
Ganesan was mentally disturbed over the attitude of the public in general and corruption in work place.By and large money was the main source of attraction and everyone was bent upon in collecting it.
The river project was completed in May 1963 and on an auspicious day the Regulator was declared open.Water was gushing out.Ganesan stood on the top and threw away100* 2rupees notes into the gushing water and resigned the Govt job.
His Executive Engineer did not recommend the resignation and instead adviced Ganesan to go for Army selection as Army being expanded in large scale and state and central Govt elligible employees are motivated to serve the country.
With out knowing anything about the Army and having not seen a single military person in life Ganesan was waiting at the first class waiting room of Bangalore cantt Rly station.He saw couple of youngsters with books and notes and were discussing in Hindi and English.He thought they were job seekers and going for some interview.
When a military truck came to fetch those going to SSB.All those boys got into the truck.Ganesan was confused and asked them what are those books and notes.
They said,notes on,"Intelligence Test,group discussion,psychology etc.
Ganesan was not even knowing the names and felt very sorry for himself.

என்ற இராமலிங்க அடிகளின் "பிறப்பவம் பொறாது பேதுறல்" வரிகளை மனதில் கொண்டு சிறிது நேரம் தியானத்தில் இருந்தார்.
The truck reached SSB
It was great experience to go through the test and after 3 days Ganesan and 4more were declared selected and to go for medical.
In the medical Ganesan was temporarily rejected.Ganesan asked for reasons and was told that he has low BP.
Not knowing what is BP,Ganesan explained that he is an athelet and a university Basketball player and never felt any weakness.
The authorities admitted him in AirforceHospital and after some investigation Ganesan was declared fit.
Ganesan joined OFFICERS TRAINING SCHOOL,POONA in Emmergency Course no.8 and was commissioned on 03 May 1964.
In 1968 Ganesan was given option to come back to PWD or continue in Army.If he wants to continue he was to go for another SSB.
Ganesan opted to go for another SSB.
He went to Allahabad 34 SSB and was again selected.
A glorious service with two great war participation and National mission leader to Antarctica,Ganesan retired on 31 July 1994
