ஆழிசூழ் உலகில் ஒரு கலங்கரை  விளக்கு.

                         கடலாடும் மக்களுக்கு வழிகாட்ட நம் முன்னோர்கள் அமைத்தது கலங்கரை விளக்கு. அதுபோல் பிறவிப்  பெருங்கடல்  கடக்கவும் வருங்கால சந்ததியினருக்கு வழிகாட்டவும் அமைக்கப்பட்டது "அகத் தூண்டுதல் பூங்கா. ".பெங்களூரு,சென்னை,பேரளம் ,சன்னாநல்லூர் போன்ற இடங்களில் இந்த பூங்கா அமைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் சன்னாநல்லூரில் அமைந்துள்ளது முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்தது.அது இந்த நிகழ்வின் காரணகர்த்தாவான கர்னல் கணேசன் பிறந்த ஊர்.

                இந்த கட்டுரையின் நோக்கம் கர்னல் கணேசன் காலத்திற்குப்பிறகு இந்த பூங்காவை எப்படி நிர்வகிப்பது என்பது பற்றியது .

                       சன்னாநல்லூர் அகத் தூண்டுதல் பூங்காவில் ஒரு நினைவுத்தூண்,ஒரு பயிற்சி அரங்கம்,மற்றும் ஒரு நூலகம் உள்ளது. நூலகத்தினுள்  ஒருவர் தங்கிக்  கொள்வதற்கான எல்லா வசதிகளும் உள்ளன.ஒரு அலுவலக அறையும்,ஒரு சிற்றுண்டி தயாரிப்பதற்கான வசதியுள்ள சமையலறையும் உள்ளது.

                       2017 லிருந்து இன்றுவரை பூங்காவின் பாதுகாப்பிற்காக இருக்கும் திரு ஜெயபிரகாஷ்  அவரது ஆயுட்காலம் வரை பாதுகாவலராக இருக்கவேண்டும்.பூங்காவின் வசதிகளை உபயோகப்படுத்திக்கொண்டு இளைஞர்களின் முன்னேற்றத்திற்காக நிகழ்ச்சிகளை நடத்த விரும்புவோர் திரு ஜெய்பிரகாஷின் அனுமதியோடு செலவுகளை முடிவு செய்து வாடகை தொகையை அவரிடம் முன்பணமாக தந்துவிடவேண்டும்.

                           கர்னல் கணேசன் காலம் வரை  அவரே தலைமை இயக்குனராக (Managing Director.)இருப்பார்.அவரது காலத்திற்குப் பிறகு அவரது இரண்டு மகன்களில் ஒருவர் பொறுப்பேற்றுக்கொள்வார்.ஆனால் இருவருமே வெளிநாட்டில் இருப்பதால் அகத்தூண்டுதல் பூங்காவின் நிகழ்வுகள் முழுக்க முழுக்க பாதுகாவலர் ஜெயப்ரகாஷ் தலைமையிலேயே நடைபெறும்.

                              பணம் சம்பாதிக்கவேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்தின் அடிப்படையில் அகத் தூண்டுதல் பூங்கா உருவாக்கப்படவில்லை. ஆகையினால் இதன் நிகழ்வுகள் பணம் சம்பாதிப்பதை உள்  நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு செயல்படக்கூடாது. இளைய சமுதாயத்தினரின் மன வளம் ,நலிந்தோர் நலம் பாராட்டல்,இந்தியதேசத்தின் பெருமையைப் பறைசாற்றல் போன்ற நிகழ்வுகளே இங்கு நடத்தப்படவேண்டும் .

                             பூங்காவில் உள்ள பயிற்சி அரங்கம் காலப்போக்கில் விரிவடைந்து "பாவாடை-தெய்வானை "பல்தொழில் பயிலரங்கமாக வளர்ச்சியடையவேண்டும். அதன் அடிப்படையில் தொழிலதிபர்கள்  மாணவர்களுக்கும் வேலை தேடுபவர்களுக்கும் கட்டணமின்றி பயிற்சி நடத்த விரும்ம்பினால்  அவர்களிடம் வாடகை என்று ஏதும்  வசூலிக்காமல் மின்சாரக்கட்டணம்,உபயோகப்படுத்தும் பொருள்களுக்கான கட்டணம் மட்டுமே வசூலிக்க வேண்டும்.  பார்வையாளர்களுக்காக  ஒட்டப்பட்டுள்ள போஸ்டர்கள் காலத்தின் மாற்றங்களுக்கேற்ப மாற்றப்படவேண்டும்.

             பூங்கா வளாகத்தில் யோகா,உடற்பயிற்சி, கராத்தே  போன்ற உடல்,மன நல  வகுப்புகள் நடத்தலாம்.

                      மகளீர் மன்றம் பெண்களுக்கான வகுப்புகள்,பயிற்சிகள் நடத்த விரும்பினால்  அனுமதிக்கப்படலாம்.அப்படிப்பட்ட வகுப்புகள் காலை 6.00 மணி முதல் மாலை 6.00 மணிவரை மட்டுமே நடத்தப்படவேண்டும்.இரவு நேரத்தில் நடத்தக்கூடாது.

                 பூங்காவில்  உள்ள நூலகம் பொதுவான நூலகம் போல் இருக்காது.இது "அறிவை  அறிவால்  அறிந்துகொள்ளும் அறிவுத் திருக்கோவில்."இங்கு மனித வள மேம்பாட்டுக்கான நூல்களும்,அறிவு வளர்ச்சிக்கான நூல்களும்  உள்ளன.புகழ் பெற்ற  சமூக நலனுக்காகப் பாடுபட்ட சான்றோர்களின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாறும் ,தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களும் உள்ளன. சில சிந்தனையாளர்கள் இலவசமாகக் கொடுத்த நூல்களும் உள்ளன. எக்காரணத்தைக்கொண்டும் நூல்கள் வெளியில் எடுத்துச்செல்லக் கூடாது. குறிப்புகள் எடுத்துக்கொள்ள விருப்பப்பட்டால் பேப்பர், பேனா  இலவசமாக வழங்கப்படும்.பாதுகாவலர் அல்லாமல் நூலக நிர்வாகத்திற்காக ஒருவர்  நியமிக்கப்படவேண்டும்.ஆனால் அவர் பாதுகாவலரின் கட்டளைப்படியே இயங்கவேண்டும். நூலகம் காலை 9.00 மணி முதல்  மாலை 6.00 மணிமுதல் இயங்கவேண்டும்.

                          நூலகத்திற்கு வருவோரின் வருகைப் பதிவு செய்யப்படவேண்டும்.வருவோருக்கு காலை 11.00 மணி அளவிலும் மாலை 5.00 மணி அளவிலும் இலவச தேநீர் வழங்கப்படவேண்டும்.

                         கால மாற்றங்களுக்கேற்ப  நகல் எடுப்பதற்கான  xerox machine ம் கணினி யும்,பிரின்டர் மற்றும் அது சம்பந்தமான மெஷின்களும் வாங்கப்படவேண்டும்.ஆனால் அவைகளை  உபயோகப்படுத்தும் முறை தெரிந்தவரே  நூலகராக இருக்கவேண்டும்.

                          பூங்காவின் செலவினங்கள் அதில் வரும் வருமானத்திலேயே சமாளிக்கவேண்டும்.புதிய கட்டுமானங்கள்,பொருள்கள் வாங்குவது போன்றே செலவுகள் நிவாக இயக்குனரின் முன் அனுமதி பெற்றே செய்யவேண்டும்.

                             கர்னல் கணேசனின் பெற்றோர் மற்றும் முன்னோர்களின் சொத்துக்கள் பாகம்   பிரிக்கப்படாமல் இருக்கிறது.பூர்வீக சொத்துக்கள் சன்னனநல்லூர் ,தூத்துக்குடி மற்றும் முடிகொண்டான் ஆகிய மூன்று கிராம எல்லைக்கு உட்பட்ட இடங்களில் உள்ளது.உயர் கல்விக்குத் தகுதியை எல்லா வழியிலும் இழந்துவிட்ட அவரது தம்பி கலியமூர்த்தி சூழ்நிலை காரணமாக கிராமத்திலேயே தங்கி இருக்க நேர்ந்தது.ஆனால் காலப்போக்கில் அவர் சுயநல வாதியாக மாறி,குடும்ப சொத்துக்களின் வருவாயை தான்,தன்  மனைவி  மக்கள் என்று எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்.இது எந்த காலத்திலும் வாரிசுகளால் விவாதிக்கப்படலாம்.

                           பூர்வீக சொத்துக்களில் தன் பங்கு என்று கேட்காமல் பூங்கா அமைக்க சாலையோரத்து நிலம் வேண்டும் என்று கணேசன் கேட்டபோது  தயங்காமல் அவரே முன் நின்று கணேசனின் தாத்தா நாராயண படையாச்சி  பெயரில் உள்ள நிலத்தை வழங்கியதோடு  ஆரம்ப வேலைகளை அவரே கவனித்துக்கொண்டார்.பூங்கா அமைத்துள்ள இடம்,கர்னல் கணேசன் பெயருக்கு மாற்றப்பட வேண்டும்.இதற்கு கணேசனின் அண்ணன்  தம்பிகள்,அக்காள்,தங்கை எவருக்குமேஆட்சேபனை தெரிவிக்கவில்லை.சட்ட பூர்வ வேலைகள் தாமதமாகின்றன.இருந்தாலும் பூங்கா அமைந்துள்ள இடத்தின் இன்றைய  உரிமை மற்றும் அதன்  பிற்கால உரிமை கணேசனின் வாரிசுகளுக்கே உரித்தாகும்.

                         கணேசனின் அம்மா பிறந்த ஊர்  பேரளம்-காரைக்கால் சாலையில் மேனாங்குடி என்ற கிராமத்திற்கு அருகில் உள்ள "செம்பியநல்லூர் ".அவரது அம்மா தெய்வானையின்  இளமை வாழ்க்கை, கணேசனை மிகவும் பத்தித்துள்ளது.அம்மாவின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கு உதவவேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தில் அம்மாவின் பெரிய தம்பி ராமச்சந்திர படையாச்சியின் பேரனும்,பழனிவேல் படையாச்சியின் மகனுமான ஜெயபிரகாஷ் என்பவருக்கு பூங்காவின் பாதுகாவலராகவும், அதன் அனுபோக உரிமையும் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

அவரது காலத்திற்குப் பிறகும் அவரது வாரிசுகளில் ஒருவர் பூங்காவின் வசதிகளை அனுபவிக்கலாம்.ஆனால் எக்காரணத்தைக்கொண்டும் பூங்காவிற்கு உரிமை கொண்டாட முடியாது.

                                அகத் தூண்டுதல் பூங்கா  அமைக்கப்பட்டதன் நோக்கம் பல நூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு நீடித்து நிற்க்கவும்,மனிதன் மகத்தான சக்தி படைத்தவன் என்பதை உலகுக்கு பறைசாற்றவும் ,எண்ணங்களே வாழ்க்கையை அமைக்கிறது என்பதால் இது ஒரு "சுய முன்னேற்ற சிந்தனை மையமாக "வும் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

                             சன்னாநல்லூர் மண் உலகின் கீழ்க் கோடியான  தென் துருவத்தில் தூவப்பட்டு ,அங்கு சுமார் 50 கோடி வருடங்களாக உருகாத உறைபனிக்கிடையில் கிடந்த இந்த கற்பாறை  சன்னாநல்லூர் கொண்டு  வரப்பட்டு உயரமான தூணில் நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ளது "மனிதனின் திறமை அளவுகோலுக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டது என்பதை நிரூபிப்பதாகும் .

ஆண்டு விழா.

                       வருடத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை ஆண்டு விழா நடத்தப்படவேண்டும். டிசம்பர் 1 ந்தேதி கர்னல் கணேசன் பிறந்தநாள்.டிசம்பர் 23 அண்டார்க்டிக்கா கல் நிறுவப்பட்ட நாள். மே  மாதம் 17 ந்தேதி நூலகம் திறக்கப்பட்ட நாள். இப்படி ஏதாவது ஒரு நாளில் ஆண்டு விழா கொண்டாடப்படவேண்டும்.

                    ஓராண்டில் நடந்த நிகழ்வுகள்,பூங்காவைப் பார்வையிட்ட முக்கியமான மனிதர்கள்,அடுத்து திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ள நிகழ்வுகள் பற்றி பொது மக்களுக்குத் தெரிவிக்கவேண்டும்.நலிந்தோர் நலம் பாராட்டல்,வசதியற்ற மாணவ மாணவியருக்கு கல்வி உதவித்தொகை,போன்ற நிகழ்வுகள் இருக்கலாம்.

                        ஆண்டு விழா காலை 9.00 மணி போல் ஆரம்பித்து சிறப்பான பகல் விருந்துடன் நிறைவு பெறவேண்டும்.உத்தேசமாக செலவுகள் கணக்கிடப்பட்டு ,அதர்க்கானப்  பணத்தை ஏற்பாடு செய்த பிறகே விழா நடத்தவேண்டும்.விழாவில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்கள் கௌரவிக்கப் படவேண்டும். உள்ளூர் ஊடக பிரதிநிதிகள் அழைக்கப்படவேண்டும்..புகைப்பட,வீடியோ பதிவுகள் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

                             விழா முடிந்தவுடன்,குறை,நிறைவுகள் ஆராயப்பட்டு மீண்டும் தவறுகள் நடக்காதவாறு பதிவு செய்யப்படவேண்டும்.

                      2022 ம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 28ம் நாளான இன்று 80 வது அகவையில் பயணித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் கணேசன் தனது காலத்திற்குள் பூங்காவின் சட்டபூர்வ உரிமையைப்  பதிவு செய்துவிடலாம்.

                       இதை முகநூலிலும்,மற்ற ஊடகங்களிலும் பதிவிடுவதன் நோக்கம் சன்னாநல்லூர் "பாவாடை-தெய்வானை "குடும்பத்தின் வாரிசுகள் எங்கிருந்தாலும் அவர்களுக்கு இந்த செய்தி போய்ச்சேரவேண்டும் என்பதேயாகும்.

                   Is Patriotism the sovereign field of Soldiers  ?

                     Unlike many other countries, the Armored forces of India  is a volunteer organisation where youth undergo physically,mentally and psychologically tough training and ultimately do the supreme sacrifice of their life,if required , in protecting the Safety,Honour and integrity of this mighty Nation India. As we all know the administration ,  head of the country is based on civilian supremacy,who does not undergo any basic training on administration.Then ,how do they govern the country.? There is no other way but to be guided by the India Administrative Service personnel.Then where and how do they  all understand "Patriotism "

                    Since time memorial betrayal of a faith has taken place in India.If one had the spirit of Nationalism,Pride of this country ,then we would not have been ruled by others.But the fact remain that we do not appreciate Leadership.And of course, we have to accept that a patriotic leader slowly turns out to be a Dictator.He does not develop second string,third string leaders and is scared of being thrown out.

               Under these circumstances,who has to defend this country from external and internal threats.It could only be Army,as patriotism is imbibed in their blood from the very first day of their training.Their service across the length and breadth of this country,hazardous high altitudes,adverse weather conditions and of course in war and peace gives them excellent opportunities to understand the spirit of "Patriotism ".They are the one who practice Leadership and not management.

 How the Army should be honoured can be understood very well if we hear the speech of British Prime minister Margret Thatcher.

In the Commons, in an answer to a question about the pay rise, she said,

*“The day, a son of a Brigadier decided to be a CA instead of going back to his father’s Regiment, it will be a sad day for the country. That’s why I am not going to let this happen and I will see that no child of our soldiers opts for a profession for money!"*

               

                        It is worth recollecting what the Nation has done to the Army in the past. 

How the Military has been demeaned, degraded and demoralised over the last 69 years.

 1. *1948* When Indian army was chasing pak intruders on the back run and confident of pushing them beyond whole of J&K, Nehru ordered cease fire. Result- POK and perpetual trouble in Kashmir.

2. *1962*

Nehru pushed the ill prepared and ill equipped military in winters to war with China and to a most humiliating defeat. Advised by his Defence Minister Krishna Menon berated the military leading to the resignation of India’s greatest soldier- General Thimayya. 

3. *1965*

Sashtri - a novice in international affairs and ill-advised by bureaucracy gave back Hazipir Pass of great strategic importance  to Pak which was won after a great battle and sacrifices of many Indian Soldiers. 

4. *1971*

Indira ill advised by fellow Kashmiri PN Haksar frittered a great military victory and made it in to a *political and diplomatic defeat*. Bhutto was ready to sign on any instrument of negotiation on Pak's illegitimate claims on Kashmir to get home his 93000 war prisoners.

As a reward to the military for the great victory, she brought down the pensions of soldiers from 70% to 50%(virtualy 33pc) and raised the pensions of civilians from 30 % to 50%. 

As also, Deprived India’s most genius soldier General Bhagat the Army Chiefs post. 

5  *1984*

Upgraded the pay of Cabinet Secretary to the level of the Service Chiefs. And thereafter very surreptitiously the babus put Cabinet Secretary ahead of the Chiefs in warrant of Precedence.

6. *1987*

Rajeev Gandhi misguided by the Bureaucrats sent the Military to Sri lanka for the so called peace keeping mission *'OP PAWAN'* and got home 1100 body bags of martyred Indian Soldiers. Rubbing salt to the wounds, Karunanidhi refused to welcome the IPKF at Chennai when it returned from Sri lanka because IPKF killed Tamil militants and terrorists in Sri lanka. 

7.  *1998* 

Vajpayee so dependent on wily Brajesh Mishra, humiliated the military by sacking the Upright Naval Chief for his principled stand against the political interference by the Akalis  promoting some one of their clan in higher naval postings. 

The following year the nation and the military paid a heavy price due to ignoring the advice  of military, Vajpayee going to Lahore when the Kargil heights were surreptitiously being occupied by Pakistan army. 600 soldiers had to die to reclaim these posts. 

7.  *2012* 

Chidambaram the clever Home Minster of Non effective Manmohan Singh, in league with a section of the media tried to defame the military with a planted story of an attempted Army coup just to settle scores with General VK Singh. They raised aspersions on the very patriotism of Indian Military and its commitment to our cherished democracy.

8. *2015-16* 

Modi ill advised by Jaitley (blaming ex servicemen for his Amritsar defeat ) through 7th Pay commission completed the unfinished grand design of the political and bureaucratic class to totally degrade and demoralise the military.

  

*The nation should know and be rest assured that while the politicians and the bureaucrats betrayed and failed the Military, the Military will NEVER fail their nation come what may.*

                If the society does not come forward to honour and appreciate the defense services,then the service personnel start thinking whether safety of the country is sole responsibility of the Army while others can loot as they feel like.

                 Look at the scandal at high level in the Army as reported by "Out look "

 Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sahni, who suffers the ignominy of becoming the first General-level officer to be cashiered and given imprisonment in a ration scam by a General Court Martial (GCM), will now have his fate decided by the Army chief.

Lt Gen Sahni, who was yesterday sentenced to three years RI and cashiered from service after being found guilty of irregularities in procurement of rations for troops in Jammu and Kashmir, was the first in the army's history to go on trial before a GCM in the rank of a General-level officer.

65-year-old Sahni of the Army Service Corps was found guilty of procuring sub-standard meat and other dry rations for troops deployed on the Siachen mountains and other high altitude areas in 2005.

Already retired from service, Lt Gen Sahni now faces the prospect of losing his terminal benefits like pension and gratuity besides the rank.

After the GCM report reaches Delhi, his case will go before the Army Chief for confirmation and thereafter to the Defence Minister.

In case, they confirm the conviction and sentence, Sahni can approach the Armed Forces Tribunal in Chandigarh for relief and may be the Supreme Court later.

He is the second General-level officer who has been punished by the GCM but his is the first case of such a senior official being cashiered and sentenced to imprisonment.

Recently, Lt Gen P K Rath faced severe reprimand and 15 years of loss of service for the purpose of pension by a GCM in the Sukna land scam.

Yesterday the GCM headed by Lt Gen Jatinder Pal Singh held Sahni, who was then the Director General of Supplies and Transport, guilty under six of the nine charges framed against him in what is known as the rations scam in the Army. Singh retired in 2006.

Sahni, who is under arrest for the last seven months since the GCM commenced, was also divested of the medals and stars. His plea for bail was rejected.

Cashiering from service would entail the withdrawal of all perks he enjoys as a retired officer of the Indian Army, including pension.

A Court of Inquiry constituted in 2005 had recommended disciplinary action against Sahni after indicting him in the case.

Among the charges for which Sahni was convicted was the intent to defraud in the procurement of rations.

A report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had paved way for action against Sahni. The report revealed that soldiers were supplied wheat, rice, pulses and edible oil past their expiry date.

The auditor has also found a serious lack of competition in filing of tenders for the purchase of ration. In fact, it points out that a single vendor bagged contracts for more than 36 per cent of the purchases.

It also said that about-to-expire food items were bought at cheaper rates by contractors and then supplied to army units.

On July 10, 2010, the summary of evidence was completed; giving recommendations to continue disciplinary action against General Sahni and orders for general court martial were issued.

In this regard, a Court of Inquiry which was constituted in 2005 had recommended disciplinary action against him in connection with the case. After his retirement from Army in 2006, the inquiry was initiated.

Lt Gen S K Sahni is the first three-star General against whom the court martial was ordered by the Service, while Lt Gen Rath was punished first. His sentence is yet to be confirmed by the superior authorities.

Another Artillery Service Corps officer Lt Gen S K Dahiya was also indicted on corruption charges by an army Court of Inquiry (CoI). But he did not face a court martial and only administrative action was taken against him.

Another senior official, Lt Gen AK Nanda was accused of misbehaving with his Technical Secretary's wife. The army had ordered a court of inquiry to investigate the allegations.

After receiving the CoI recommendations, the army had "censored" both Nanda and his Technical secretary for their respective roles in the whole episode.

Lt Gen Avadesh Prakash, who has been named in the Sukna land scam, is at the moment attached to the Eastern Army Command HQ in Kolkata. Disciplinary action was prescribed against him by the former Chief of Army Staff General Deepak Kapoor.

In a sexual harassment case, Major General A K Lal, who was commanding a division on the Sino-Indian border in Jammu and Kashmir, was found guilty by a court martial in 2008 on charges levelled against him by a captain serving under him.

Lal was dismissed from service and has now approached the Armed Forces Tribunal against the decision.

In early 2009, two major generals of the Army Ordnance Corps--Anand Swaroop and S.P. Sinha--faced separate charges of irregularities in the purchase of stores.

In 2006, Major General Gur Iqbal Singh Multani was dismissed from service and was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for attempting to smuggle large quantities of liquor meant for army canteens to his hometown.

Multani, who last commanded the Bareilly-based 6 Mountain Division, was also stripped of his rank.

The list of officers facing charges of indiscipline and corruption include Major General B P S Mander, who was charged with irregularities in the procurement of dry rations.

Two other major generals--K.T.G. Nambiar and Rana Goswami--were also convicted of financial irregularities.

                           It will be most unfortunate for the country if the Army disintegrate and loose its core value of protecting the Safety, Honour and integrity of this country. 

 

                                             The invaders and the Defenders.

                    India was once composed of  565 princely states,and these kingdoms maintained their sovereignty in spite of paying taxes to a superior rulers.That is how they retained their honour even after British took over complete control of this great country. The Armoured forces of a country should always consists of patriotic,disciplined forces and not mercenaries.

                   The indian Army is time tested ,world wide highly respected force.The had proved their valour and loyalty  to world military commanders in every war they had participated.But soldiering is slowly loosing its honour and is replaced by mercenaries.But can a Nation be defended by a mercenary force.If so,then there will be no patriotism and a fighting force can change side any time depending upon who pays more.

(Late ) Maj Gen M E A Krishnan,AVSM,who was commissioned in 1947 and retired in 1984 and had taken part in all the wars India fought since then.

When Margaret Thatcher became the PM she announced a three fold increase in the pays of the forces._ 

In the Commons, in an answer to a question about the pay rise, she said,

*“The day, a son of a Brigadier decided to be a CA instead of going back to his father’s Regiment, it will be a sad day for the country. That’s why I am not going to let this happen and I will see that no child of our soldiers opts for a profession for money!"*

                  Right from the day one of independence what is happening in India is slowly and systematically down grading of Indian Army

How the Military has been demeaned, degraded and demoralised over the last 69 years.

 1. *1948* When Indian army was chasing pak intruders on the back run and confident of pushing them beyond whole of J&K, Nehru ordered cease fire. Result- POK and perpetual trouble in Kashmir.

2. *1962*

Nehru pushed the ill prepared and ill equipped military in winters to war with China and to a most humiliating defeat. Advised by his Defence Minister Krishna Menon berated the military leading to the resignation of India’s greatest soldier- General Thimayya. 

3. *1965*

Sashtri - a novice in international affairs and ill-advised by bureaucracy gave back Hazipir Pass of great strategic importance  to Pak which was won after a great battle and sacrifices of many Indian Soldiers. 

4. *1971*

Indira ill advised by fellow Kashmiri PN Haksar frittered a great military victory and made it in to a *political and diplomatic defeat*. Bhutto was ready to sign on any instrument of negotiation on Pak's illegitimate claims on Kashmir to get home his 93000 war prisoners.

As a reward to the military for the great victory, she brought down the pensions of soldiers from 70% to 50%(virtualy 33pc) and raised the pensions of civilians from 30 % to 50%. 

As also, Deprived India’s most genius soldier General Bhagat the Army Chiefs post. 

5  *1984*

Upgraded the pay of Cabinet Secretary to the level of the Service Chiefs. And thereafter very surreptitiously the babus put Cabinet Secretary ahead of the Chiefs in warrant of Precedence.

6. *1987*

Rajeev Gandhi misguided by the Bureaucrats sent the Military to Sri lanka for the so called peace keeping mission *'OP PAWAN'* and got home 1100 body bags of martyred Indian Soldiers. Rubbing salt to the wounds, Karunanidhi refused to welcome the IPKF at Chennai when it returned from Sri lanka because IPKF killed Tamil militants and terrorists in Sri lanka. 

7.  *1998* 

Vajpayee so dependent on wily Brajesh Mishra, humiliated the military by sacking the Upright Naval Chief for his principled stand against the political interference by the Akalis  promoting some one of their clan in higher naval postings. 

The following year the nation and the military paid a heavy price due to ignoring the advice  of military, Vajpayee going to Lahore when the Kargil heights were surreptitiously being occupied by Pakistan army. 600 soldiers had to die to reclaim these posts. 

7.  *2012* 

Chidambaram the clever Home Minster of Non effective Manmohan Singh, in league with a section of the media tried to defame the military with a planted story of an attempted Army coup just to settle scores with General VK Singh. They raised aspersions on the very patriotism of Indian Military and its commitment to our cherished democracy.

8. *2015-16* 

Modi ill advised by Jaitley (blaming ex servicemen for his Amritsar defeat ) through 7th Pay commission completed the unfinished grand design of the political and bureaucratic class to totally degrade and demoralise the military.

  

*The nation should know and be rest assured that while the politicians and the bureaucrats betrayed and failed the Military, the Military will NEVER fail their nation come what may.*

                All patriotic citizens of this noble country and highly respected scholars should open their mind and answer to the dependents of thousands of soldiers,sailors and Airmen who had sacrificed their life  for the sake of this country.

 The country is witnessing the developments in Ladakh and is still the dis respect to armed forces continues.Do the Indian mass have self respect ?.Do we encourage traitors in the Armed forces.?.What our media is doing ?

                          Visit to Village "Nanneri ".

              I had come acroos Mr.Sambasivam in a social meet a few years before.He is an Indian Forest Service Officer,retired and settled in Chennai.I had no close contact with him then.He later migrated to USA as his two sons and daughter are settled there.How ever ,he was sentimentally drawn towards his birth place "Nanneri " a remote village on the foot hills of "Javvathu " hills near Vellore.He alone came back from USA and started a welfare Trust in the name of his parents .Now and then he returns from abroad and spends time with the village youth.

                  Recently I had met him and we had discussions on our mutual projects.He honestly expressed his desire to visit my "Inspirational Park ".So we made a hurried one day trip to my village Sannanallur and returned.After that Mr.Sambasivam had made a programme for me to visit his village "Nanneri.

           It was very kind of Mr Sambasivam to have arranged a three days programme including visit to "Golden Temple "at vellore.

Fortunetely the rain co operated and it was clear weather on 13,14 and 15 Nov 2021.The programme went on as planned.

                  The school children had shown tremendous interest on the videos presented by Colonel Ganesan.The programme was sent to another friend.He had paid glorious comments on Colonel Ganesan.,which is placed below.

Amazing. Like Abdul Kalam, our Col Mr Ganesan is his spending time for the betterment students. This is the happiest occasion for the students of Vellakuttai. 

      Apart from spending time in School or College, students relax and rejoicing over when they have chances to attend such meeting. They harvest new ideas from the words of the speakers. It is a rare occasion for them which they never miss. Students will be very grateful to you for bringing to their Village a multifaceted motivational speaker. This will ignite a new spark in their brain. 

          The need of the hour is more and more motivational speakers to the students at all level. Our Country is overflowing with political leaders. But with a few Motivational speakers. In school or College students get bored not because of subjects but because of the Teachers. Hence, their expectations are something unique from a Motivational speaker. Hence, a Motivational speaker should be an entertainer with the basic quality of story telling, teaching his own experiences, the challenges he faced and managed by his skill, his teachers who taught him the technique to overcome the obstacles and etc; Usually, all aged group like to hear stories interestingly. But, if the stories are told from own experience, it will be more appealing and heart throbbing. Actually, you have chosen a correct personality bearing all the above qualities to productively and mindfully entertain the students of Vellakuttai. 

 

        There were motivational speakers like Buddha, Mahaveera, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Vivekananda and etc; They started their life journey as the motivational speakers. People were enchanted by their speach, they depicted as Gods.Actually, people learnt something novel which they have not heard previously. 

          Buddha emerged from an affluent family. He had known about hunger, serious health issues. Hence, when he came to witness the people suffering without food and with serious ailments, he realised that there is some serious issues pending with the society for years together and needed immediate reformation. Hence, he decided to quit the wealthy family atmosphere and joined with the suffering community. 

      Buddha was a premier in Social Reformation in India.

Mr.Sambasivam is  highly dedicated and sincerely spends time towards bringing a change in ans arround "Nanneri "village.

                                                         The Creation.

   Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity is characterised by the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena, and to generate solutions. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing.

If you have ideas but don’t act on them, you are imaginative but not creative.

             Ganesan was born and brought up in absolute rural back ground.Nature,what was happening arround him was his silent master  and he observed each and every activity with deep interest.Being in a agriculture family,he observed with interest,the process of seeds growing into trees.A mango seed will sprout and grow into mango tree only.When it grows,you can not expect coconut out of Mango trees.All mango trees through out the world will give mangoes only.That is what is programmed by nature.

                      But ,will that be applicable to human beings. ?

                                            certainly not.Human beings are equipped with a super instrument called "Mind ".He is the creater.He can transform himself into anything.But is that happenning in the world.Millions of people follow only a beaten path without realising their super power.

                    Ganesan was travelling in different plane.His activities were encompassing vertical,lateral, thinking.With the result,he had established a land mark in all his activities, for example an invitation.He had designed his 25 th year of wedding card in a different way.

 The format choosen,the words selected and the design certainly drew attention of many.

The marriage is like confluence two streams.After the marriage there will be only one river and the individuals will loose their identity and pick up a new path .In this case a mountain stream is joining a calm quiet river.What a fine example. ! .Ganesan is like a wild mountain  goat.Anathalakshimi is like a calm,quiet river.

                 The 25 years of their wedded life has brought to the world two "Parous Scions ".I leave it to the readers to decipher the meaning of this word.

                                                   The Great Expectations.

Great Expectations is the thirteenth novel by Charles Dickens and his penultimate completed novel. It depicts the education of an orphan nicknamed Pip (the book is a bildungsroman, a coming-of-age story).

The novel is set in Kent and London in the early to mid-19th century^[5] and contains some ofDickens's most celebrated scenes, starting in a graveyard, where the young Pip is accosted by the escaped convict Abel Magwitch. Great Expectations is full of extreme imagery – poverty, prison ships and chains, and fights to the death – and has a colourful cast of characters who have entered popular culture. These include the eccentric Miss Havisham, the beautiful but cold Estella, and Joe, the unsophisticated and kind blacksmith. Dickens's themes include wealth and poverty, love and rejection, and the eventual triumph of good over evil. Great Expectations, which is popular both with readers and literary critics,^[6][7] has been translated into many languages and adapted numerous times into various media.

    It was 03 30 in the early morning on 16 June 2021. Was it a dream or thought process ,not clear.A chain of events,thought process from my child hood till date was flooding my mind.Suddenly the Charles Dickens noval,"The Great Expectation "came to my mind as a flash back.

                                  It was early 1958.For the first time I left my home,village back ground and joined Annamalai Polytechnic,Chettinad pursuing three years Diploma in civil Engineering,and was staying in hostel.The student community was a mixed group in age and experience.I was 16 years old,and class mates were 22-23.I came from Tamil medium,village background,uneducated parents and agriculture life style.My classmates were mostly from English medium schooling, Pre university pass/fail,under graduate pass/fail  and well educated parenthood.But I Q level of me was far ahead of my class mates.I had started reading great Tamil litratures like Thirumanthiram,Thirukkural,Thiruvasakam and many novals of Dr,Mu.Varadarasan from very young age.So there was a general soft corner for me amongst students.I had no friends.I spent most of the time in Library or at sports ground.

                      Under these circumstances,the boy seated naxt to me in class by name Arunachalam was guiding me in english education and he was a day scholar. He is from local Nattukottai chettiar community. As a joke he had replaced my engineering instruments box with his,without my knowledge.when I came to know of that,I abused him badly, changed my seat away from him. A few days later I got a cover by post.

                      It was a letter ,written in English,by that boy,apologizing  for the incidence and wishing me great future.It was he,who wanted me to read Charles  Dicken's "Great Expectations " .Further he had writen," Ganesh,I want you to be a Gentleman,kind hearted and noble character.You should travel along the length and breadth of this noble land ,establishing a milestone where ever you go.Forget about my mistake.It was just for fun.I am sorry if I had hurt you.

               I was not knowing the meaning of that fully.I had never read anything in English other than my subject till then..How ever I could understand the love for me in his heart.But there was no reaction from me.Days rolled over.According to their customs,He went on "Adoptation "to another family. But he certainly lighted a lamp in my heart which was glowing and slowly and steadily enlightened me.

                      " Expectations" in human life is a great motivating factor.But at the same time great expectations without much effort will lead you to disappointments.Action is only our part;But the reaction or result is governed by many factors.So in the equation of happiness ,the denominator must be expectation and efforts should be numerator.Increase the effort and decrease the expectations, the resulting happiness will be more.

                         I became an Army Officer,took part in two wars,and certainly traveled along the roads less traveled by many. Human psychology,philosophy of life etc became my pet subjects.A harmonious association of powers,simultaneous and quick concentration of all senses leads to success unknown to history  is the dictum I had learnt. 

               The Army service and my honest and sincere efforts with least expectations gave me the frame of mind to enjoy what ever I get.So life goes on.

                            I had not met that boy Arunachalam  again,after my polytechnic days.I heard that he was working with "Coramandal Engineering company,way back in 1964-65.It is more than 50 years now.The time and tide might have drifted him in public ocean.But Provis,and Pip,the characters of the story "Great Expectations " rmain fresh in my mind.
